First and transition year students had an outstanding day out at Ballyhass Lakes Monday, getting to know their buddies through the aquapark, zip-lining, and climbing walls!
A big thank you to Julie from Tusla for visiting us and delivering an engaging workshop to some of our TY students.
Our First Year and Transition Year students took part in their first Buddy Quiz yesterday, enjoying a fun and engaging activity together. The quiz gave students an opportunity to work as teams, share some laughs and get to know their fellow students better. It was a fantastic way to build new friendships and strengthen the sense of community within our school.
Our TYs enjoyed their first team-building activity on Tuesday with a surfing trip to Lahinch. From catching waves to encouraging each other in the water, the day was all about building friendships, confidence, and teamwork. A fantastic start to the year and plenty of fun had by all!

Our TY Mini-Company students had a fantastic day at the North Cork Student Enterprise Programme in the Charleville Park Hotel! 💡📈✨
On our first day back to school, our TY students met their 1st Year buddies for the first time. The PE Department organised a fun-filled session of games and icebreakers, giving everyone the opportunity to get to know one another in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
Our TY students finished their year on a high with an action-packed trip to Star Outdoor Activity Centre in Kenmare.
A number of weeks ago we hosted our annual Primary School Fun Day in the Coláiste. A big thank you to our TY students and Cian O’Connor GDA for their work in putting together such an enjoyable and successful day. We look forward to seeing some of these students when we return in August!

Our TY students had a powerful and informative day at the Cork County Council’s Multi‑Schools Road Safety Event.
Our Transition Year students had an unforgettable two days working with the incredibly talented Sean Murphy, diving into the world of music creation, performance, and rap!
We are absolutely delighted to celebrate the fantastic success of our Transition Year students Vanessa Fregene Omoregie, Nicole Linehan, and Jennika Joyce, who have won the prestigious Méihuā Cup Chinese Learning Competition!
Well done to our TY students who completed the GAA Coaching Course with local GDA Cian O'Connor. The learned about the fundamentals of coaching, go-games refereeing and how to plan effective training sessions. These skills will be put to the test in May for our annual Primary School Blitz Day ⚽️
A massive well done to our incredible Transition Year students who took part in Coláiste’s production of Larger Than Life.
Well done to two of our Mini Company teams who represented the school at the North Cork Student Enterprise Awards Finals in Springfort Hall this week.

Divine and Kel were very fortunate to take part in UCC’s Pre-Med Day on Friday 30th Jan.
Our Transition Year students had a fantastic time last week taking part in hands‑on First Aid workshops.
Keep an eye out for some of our fantastic students and Ms. Colfer in this short video showcasing Cork College of FET – Mallow Campus, part of Cork Education & Training Board (CETB). Our students got to experience the ‘Beauty and Spa Therapist’ and ‘Hairdressing’ courses.
A huge well done to our school community for their generous donations to our local St Vincent de Paul Food Drive. The Student Council organised the event and presented the food items to members of the SVP this week. Thanks also to Barry’s Tea, and Wiisteam for their kind.
Kate and Amanda seized the chance to explore future careers at UCC’s College of Medicine and Health during the Healthcare 4 You event!
The Ty music students and trad group played and sang for the residents in the windmills nursing home Churchtown on Tuesday. The also did a concert in Mallow hospital that was live streamed to all the wards and waiting rooms. They had a great day spreading some festive cheer in the local community.
On behalf of the six girls travelling to Kolkata next March, we would like to thank
the stewards for helping out on the day of the run, the companies and businesses who helped us out for the event and who also sponsored our lovely spot prizes, the many tractors, trucks and vintage cars and their drivers that took part in the run and the public for coming out and supporting us.
While our Mini Company crew were busy making sales at the Marina Market, the rest of the TY gang had their own epic day of fun! From karaoke and dancing to word games, sports, and drama, there was something for everyone. Huge thanks to our superstar teachers for bringing the energy and making it all happen!
