A huge warm welcome to our 1st Year Students who started with us last week. On the first day they met their TY buddy - our fantastic TY students played games with their assigned 1st year student and ensured they felt welcome.
TY students received a plethora of Certificates from courses and workshops they took part in throughout the year at their graduation.
Our TYs had an incredible two days in Kenmare for their end of year trip at the start of the week. Big thank you to Ben for the video editing! What an amazing year!!
During the year some of our TY's took part in a program to learn more about & raise awareness of Alzheimer's & Dementia in our school.
Huge congratulations to Glimmer who took part in the National NFTE Foróige Finals last Wednesday in Croke Park.
Well done to our four TY students Aoibhinn, Finn, Noah & Michaela who embarked on their Camino journey last week with @clionasfoundation They raised over €4000 for the charity & walked 120km from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela.
Huge congratulations to Lily O Callaghan, Elaine Thompson and Freya O Riordan who won the annual Meihua Cup Chinese Language competition today. Great achievement.

A number of TY students attended a two day Easter School in UCC. This experience offered them a taste of student life in UCC. Students were offered the opportunity to engage in many academic fields from science and engineering to business and law, along with medicine and health.
What an amazing experience! Well done to Roisin, Ruth, Ella and Annalise who visited India over the Easter break. It wasn’t an easy undertaking to raise €2000 each which was directed sent to HOPE for each of their projects.
Cork musician Sean Murphy worked with the TY students in composing, performing and recording a Rap. Students got the chance to create the lyrics and sing the chorus for their song.
Our TY students completed the GAA Go Games Referee and Introduction to Coaching Gaelic Games Courses this week with our local GDA Cian O’Connor ⚽️🎾
One of our mini-company groups ‘Bosca Focal’ participated in the MTU Innovation Day today. The students really enjoyed the day & represented the school so well. Well done 👏🏻

TY students put on their dancing shoes and hit the halls during the week. They learned the basics of Jiving and a little bit of Line dancing. Dancing with the Stars might have some new recruits in the future.
50 TYs took part in the Apple TY programme this month. The students were brought to the European headquarters and took part video and photography workshops, learned about cloud computing, and got to participate in a Q&A panel with some of Apple's staff. Students also were treated to lunch and dessert from Apple's Michelin Starr restaurants.
UCC today. They all had an enjoyable experience and represented the Coláiste admirably. The winners will be announced next week - best of luck to all involved 🤞🤞
Well done to TY students Tiernan Mulcahy, John Walsh and Jack Mortell who represented the school on a national level at the recent Certified Irish Angus school's competition.
Twenty Transition Year students visited the Virgin Media studios in Dublin this week, where they received an exclusive tour of some of the most well-known locations on Irish television.
Rob from FRS gave a presentation to the TY students on how farming has evolved in recent times and how students can get involved in the agricultural sector by working with FRS. Rob highlighted opportunities for earning money while learning and gaining real world experience.
Our TY students put their driving abilities to the test when they spent some time on the driving track at Munster Driving Campus during the week.
Huge well done to Tiernan Mulcahy and Billy Breen again on their recent tractor run fundraiser. The total amount raised was €2300 which the boys chose to split between two very worthwhile charities Pieta House and Hope Foundation.
TY’s, 5th and 6th Year Ag Science students attended a talk with the Irish Agroforestry Forum, learning about the benefits of incorporating trees onto agricultural land.
