The very best of luck to our TY business students representing Cork in the National semi final of Foroige’s Enterprise competition.
Before Easter, as part of the Creative School Initiative, the TY & 5th year Art students took part in a workshop run by Wire Sculpture Artist Glenn Gibson.
TY students participated in an AI and Video Analysis workshop Tuesday as part of the Computer Science course. This involved students setting up cameras, playing a game of tag rugby where they then used AI and Software programmes to analyse the game.
A very big thank you to Niall Murphy (EPS Apprentice and Graduate Coordinator) and past-pupil Claudia Kennedy (HR EPS) who gave a fantastic careers presentation to over 100 TY, 5th & 6th Year students on all aspects of the trainee, apprenticeship and engineering graduate opportunities available in EPS. Well done Niall & Claudia 👏
Over the last few weeks our TY students have been taking part in the GAA Go-Games Refereeing course, in addition to the Introduction to Coaching Gaelic Games Award ⚽️.
Senior Cycle History students recently enjoyed a performance of the play ‘Sean Moylan: Irish Revolutionary’, written and performed by Michael Patric. The play brought the dramatic events of the War of Independence to life to the delight of the students.
We were very lucky to have artist Paul Kelly visit the art room recently. Paul spoke to the students about his time spent in animation working on some classics such as Anastasia, The Land Before Time and All dogs go to heaven to name but a few during his time with Sullivan & Bluth studios.
Our TY students enjoyed a fantastic bonding day on the Limerick Kerry greenway during the week. Their fitness levels were tested as they cycled approx 50k from Barnagh (Templeglantine) to Listowel and back to Abbeyfeale.
TY students Kelly, Becky and Emma went to Croke Park the start of this month for the 3rd stage of the Certified Irish Angus Beef Schools Competition! Their theme is ‘Animal Welfare’ and the stand was judged throughout the day.
Our TY students put their driving abilities to the test when they spent some time on the driving track at Munster Driving Campus during the week.

Huge congratulations and well done to the fabulous TY drama students who performed ‘High School Musical’ at the beginning of February. The drama, dance, art work and music were spectacular.

TY students put on their dancing shoes and hit the halls during the week. They learned the basics of Jiving and a little bit of Line dancing. Dancing with the Stars might have some new recruits in the future.
We were delighted to welcome Dr Margot Bolster, Assistant State Pathologist to the Coláiste this week.
She gave a most informative talk to our Transition Year and Senior Science students, outlining her work as a forensic pathologist.
Congratulations to Kelly, Becky and Emma on progressing to the third stage of the Certified Irish Angus Beef Schools Competition, which will be held in Croke Park on March 1st.
Our TY students are studying a First Aid module throughout the year under the guidance of Ms. E. Murphy.
Please see below a list of expenses to date and projected expenses for the remainder of the current TY year. Last summer each TY student paid €200 and we have not requested any further payments to date.
Our T.Y. & 5th year students had the opportunity to complete the ‘Safe Pass Health & Safety Awareness Training Course’ provided by a member of C.I.F. (Construction Industry Federation) on Wednesday last.
Our TY students completed a “Basic First Aid Course” this past week. Each student received a Ballyhass Basic First Aid Cert to add to their portfolio or CV.
With stage 1 completed and approved by judges with a video entry, our TY students Becky, Emma & Kelly had their interview Monday in Moorepark Fermoy stage 2 of the Certified Irish Angus Beef Schools Competition.
To celebrate the end of their first term in the Coláiste our 1st years enjoyed an afternoon of bingo with their TY buddies.
TY Mini-Company students attended a Trade Fair in the Marina Market in Cork today hosted by Foróige. A very enjoyable day was had by all 👏🏻.

The annual Christmas SVP Food Appeal is in full swing in the Coláiste, but the closing date of December 7th is fast approaching!
