Awareness of Alzheimer's & Dementia - Fundraiser

During the year some of our TY's took part in a program to learn more about & raise awareness of Alzheimer's & Dementia in our school.

On Monday 12th May they held a Denim Day for the whole school & a TY - T morning where they charged the students €2 to wear denim & the TY's paid for their buns & treats & got complimentary Tea/Coffee on the morning.  This was a great success raising €1,070 for the Alzheimer's Society of Ireland.  Laura from the Alzheimer's Society came to our school on Thursday for a presentation of the cheque & we were informed that the money raised in our school & North Cork will be put back into services in North Cork. A huge thank you to the students involved.  Will hope to keep this program going for TY's going forward.
