Margaret Lehane ‘Dromcommer Pig Farm’ in Kanturk gave our lucky 5th Year Ag Science students a tour of her impressive farm recently. Huge thank you to Margaret for facilitating this visit especially as the week before she did the same for our Leaving Certs. This experience has been very beneficial to our students learning.

Well done to all our students who got in the festive mood for our Christmas Jumper Day in aid of the Cork Simon Community. Over 800 euro was raised from the event. We were also treated to beautiful carol singing by the school choir and some of the Colaiste staff. Well done everyone.

Tomorrow is Christmas jumper day in the Colaiste. Students are asked to bring €2 which will be donated to the Cork Simon Community. Student Council reps will collect this money in assembly tomorrow.

Well done to 2nd Year Home Economics students kicking off the festive baking with some gingerbread people!

The Leaving Certificate Ag Science class visited Margaret Lehane ‘Dromcommer Pig Farm’ in Kanturk recently - A 3,000 indoor pig enterprise. They learnt from her experience and were able to see their subject theory in practice. Huge thank you to Margaret for facilitating this visit.

Congratulations to our U15 boys soccer team who got off to a winning start today beating Charleville CBS 3-2 in a very close and exciting game. Well done lads!!

Students took part in various activities during the week from Science Quizzes, Science Relay Races, Poster competitions, Meme competitions and 30 Second competitions. 5 TY students entered the Certified Irish Angus Beef competition.

Congratulations to our Senior Camogie Girls who beat Coachford Community College by one point today in Mahon. The girls fought hard right to the end and are now through to the final. Well done girls.

Our 1st Year girls continued their winning streak last week beating Gael Colaiste Mhuire AG 8-05 to 5-05 . In their previous game they beat Ursoline Secondary School (Blackrock) 8-05 to 1-04. Well done to everyone involved.

Congratulations to our U16 girls football team who beat Ballincollig Community School 1-10 to 1-03. Well done to everyone involved.

Well done to our 1st year (1c) students who finished their Tea Pot stands in Wood Technology last week. 1st year students benefit from the taster program - trying/ experiencing every subject before they decide on their Junior Cycle subjects. The projects were very well made and fantastic creativity shown in their designs.

Hard luck to the Boys U17 soccer team after losing 3-2 after extra time to St. Pats Castleisland courtesy of a late penalty. They fought bravely, with goals from Dylan Barrett and a Castleisland o.g. in normal time.

Well done to our senior soccer team who beat Millstreet Community School 5-0 yesterday in Buttevant. A super result and hopefully the first of many. Goals from Billy O'Riordan(2), Tristan Collins, David Hanlon and Aaron Trimm.

Well done to the Senior Girls Football team on their first win of the group against St Peter's Passage. Overall, a very good performance by all the girls. A great start to the year and long may it continue!

Our U16 girls fought very hard in todays game against St. Marys Macroom but unfortunately the result did not go their way. Colaiste Mhuire 4-5 to St Marys 7-6. Well done to everyone involved.

Dear parent,

Coláiste Mhuire Board of Management would like to notify all parents and members of the school community that they have completed annual reviews of the school’s Child Safeguarding and Anti-Bullying Policies. These policies will be reviewed again in approximately 12 months time.

Some third year Religion students are taking part in the Crocus project. They planted crocuses recently to remember all the children that died in the Holocaust. We hope to see these bloom in March.
